The F1 in Schools program was “designed to introduce students to STEM subjects in the most engaging way possible – through the creation of a miniature F1 car”. Endorsed by the official Formula 1 racing body, yearly racing competitions are held internationally. Fold Theory has supported two teams from Blue Mountains Grammar School by helping to produce their required expo booth displays. Photonic racing won Best Display Award in 2021, and Xpeditious Racing were the overall winner of the 2024 Australian National Finals (and will compete in the world finals later in the year). The display stands contribute points towards the team’s overall result. The students designed the shape of their stand, along with all the graphic design elements. Each stand was shipped from Melbourne as a flat pack with instructions. The stands had to fit within the constraints of a cardboard delivery box and be assembled in under 2 hours.
